How should I dress?

There's no dress code at Beckwith Baptist Church. Our ministry leaders and church family members often wear more traditional "Sunday Dress", but our aim is that you would feel welcome as our guest!

What kind of music should I expect to find?

We love music that honors and glorifies God and inspires the worshipper! In our worship service, you will notice treasured, traditional hymns that you may be familiar with, along with a blend of more modern, sacred music.  Whether it is congregational singing, soloists or ensembles, you are sure to be encouraged by the uplifting worship music here at Beckwith.

Do you provide a nursery?

Yes, your children (infants and toddlers) will be lovingly cared for in an inviting, nicely furnished nursery by our friendly, professional nursery staff.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

We want our service to be a gift to the Lord (and to you)! We hope you will find in this place a welcoming, sweet spirit, truth plainly taught from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace. As our guest, please don't feel obligated to participate in the offering.

What We Believe

For our full statement of faith, you can simply request one when you visit.  But below is a highlight of some of our core beliefs as a local church.

We Believe

that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God in all of its parts, and without error. The Bible is the sole infallible rule for faith and practice in the church. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21)

We Believe

there is one true God, the Creator and Ruler of all creation. The only eternal, un-created Being.
(Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10, 44:6-8, 45:18&21-22)

We Believe

the one true God co-subsists in Three distinct, co-equal, and co-eternal divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(1John 5:7, Matthew 28:19, 1Peter 1:2, 2Corinthians 13:14)

We Believe

God the Father is the first Person of the triune Godhead and is sovereign over all that is, was, and will be.
(1Peter 1:2, Matthew 3:16-17, 1Corinthians 8:6)

We Believe

that the Lord Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Trinity, the Eternal Word made flesh, and the only begotten Son of God.   He was fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, and shed His sinless blood on Calvary for the sins of the whole world.   (John 1:1-3, John 8:58-59, Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, Colossians 2:8-9, Philippians 2:5-8, Titus 2:13-14, 2Peter 1:1&11)

We Believe

that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity.  He is the Christian's great Comforter, as well as the One who brings the world conviction of sin, judgment, and righteousness. (John 16:8, 14:16)

We Believe

that God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit created the universe and everything in it in six, 24 hour days, just as the Genesis account plainly records.  (Gen 1, 2, Col:16-17)

We Believe

that Jesus Christ is returning to this earth, just as He said, and will establish His millennial reign.  Further, His return is always imminent. (Matt 24:44, Rev 20:1-6)

We Believe

that man was originally created in the image of God, but Adam's sin in the garden has forced a separation between a Holy God and sinful man.  Further, that Adam's sin has been passed along to all men. For, both by nature and by choice, all are sinners.  (Rom 3:23, 5:12-21)

We Believe

that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone and is a free gift of God.  Salvation is found only in the person and finished work of Christ, and cannot be procured or otherwise merited by any other means or work of man.  Further, we hold that God desires for all mankind to enter into His salvation through a personal relationship with Christ. (Eph 2:8-9, Rom 6:23, 2 Peter 3:9)

We Believe

that the local church is comprised of of immersed believers that have been born again by the Spirit of God.  Further, we hold that every church member has been saved to serve, and should diligently seek the Lord's will to do just that in a local church setting. (Col 1:18, Acts 2:41-42)
